For the same reason that you don't shop for your medical doctor based on price. A low price and a guarantee are worthless if the treatment doesn't work and the company goes out of business a few months after you've had your therapy. Most auricular therapy companies don't stay in business for very long. Some companies offer lowball pricing and a bunch of promises just to get your business, but then they aren't around when you need them. So be smart and do your research and ask the most important questions first. By the way, auricular therapy is a great bargain. Many smoking cessation programs are very expensive like the use of Chantix which costs approximately $500 and takes 12 weeks. Our regular price for our smoking cessation program is $125 but we often offer special discounts so check back often. Q: How Long Have You Been In Business? A: Since April of 2004 or about 5 years. Q:How Many Treatments Have You Performed? A: Approximately 10,000 Q: What Is Your Success Rate? A: Approximately 80%. Q: How Do You Determine Your Success Rate? A: We actually poll our previous clients via the telephone. We don't just use some other company's numbers. Q: What Is Your Primary Business? A: Auriculotherapy. This is all we do - full time. This IS our business. Q: Do You Treat One Ear Or Both Ears? A: We treat both ears because this is what the original researchers have recommended. Q: How Many Points Do You Stimulate On Each Ear? A: We stimulate between 6 and 12 points on each ear because again, this is the recommended protocol. We don't cut corners. Q: How Long Will I Have to Wait to Get In For a Booster? A: We usually get clients in on the SAME day that they call to schedule a booster. On rare occassions a client may have to wait as long as 2 days but this typically only occurs once or twice a year due to a Holiday schedule. Q: Do You Have Evening and Weekend Hours? A: No, we don't routinely schedule clients during these hours. However, we do try to accomodate everyone and so we will work with those people who can't make it during normal business hours. Not all auriculotherapy providers are equal. We will provide you with some suggestions on what to look for when comparing different companies. To begin with, you need to be well informed. Do your homework. Ask a lot of questions. Go to the company's web site. Do they even have a web site? How often do they update their web site? Try emailing a prospective provider and see how long it takes to get a response. Call the company and try to get your questions answered. We'll even provide a list of questions that you may want to consider asking.
